The Joiner

I am not a joiner in the usual sense. I am more of a loner, but I did join Barbara at the laundromat quite a few times some decades ago and we have somehow remained joined.  I am a joiner of wood to wood. I have been working with wood for more years than I care to count. Most of that work has been in Rhode Island where I ran a remodeling and custom kitchen company, Mantelpeace.

My wife Barbara and I relocated to Jamaica in the Green Mountains in 2022 where we built our new home together - including a cozy new workshop for me (shown under construction behind us in this photo).

That shop is now up and running and I am available to take on select projects in the area.

Having a break from the day to day running of a business has given me the opportunity to pursue an idea I have had for many years - to produce cabinetry that is primarily constructed of solid wood rather than the ubiquitous plywood. By marrying traditional furniture construction with some new high-quality fasteners, I can now offer what I think is a superior product at competitive pricing.

Take a look around this site where I explain my thinking and approach in more detail, see what I might do for you here and let me know what you think.
